Cane watch English verge fusee key wind key set movement in Chester 1833 hallmarked repoussé sterling silver cane head housing with engraved gilt and Roman numeral white enamel dial inscribed around the gilt perimeter "KEEP ME CLEAN AND USE ME WELL AND I TO YOU THE TRUTH WILL TELL". This ornate cane head is set on a solid ebony wood cane with base metal tip, s#4088 on movement c1833
CONDITION:
good running order (winds, sets and ticks), the movement is in very good condition with a few fine scratches. The cane head is in good condition with moderate wear to the high points on repoussé. This is a more attractive earlier example than the cane watch sold in our last sale with a higher grade English movement. Ht 36", Diameter of cane head 63mm
